Bringing in true flavours with this recipe and adding a splash of sweet but salty. You've heard of bacon pancakes with maple syrup so why not experiment a little? Gookie Dough with bacon. Yes, sounds crazy but streaks of maple bacon in your chocolate chip cookie will be surprisingly satisfying and is a perfect combination. Don't knock it till you try it!

You will need (serving = 18 calories = 420):

One monster tub of Gookie Dough in original flavour

100g of nuts (whatever kind you like best)

12 slices of maple bacon which is cooked and broken into pieces (don't overcook as it will also be going into the oven to be further baked)

Direction

Firstly, line a few baking trays with parchment paper and preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celcius. Leave your Gookie Dough out of the fridge for about ten minutes so it has time to soften, this will make it easier to work with.

Next, roll your Gookie Dough into balls in the palm of your hand and place them onto the baking tray. Space the balls of dough so there are six cookies per tray. Then press three to four pieces of bacon into the centre of each ball of dough. Then top with one tablespoon of cookie dough to cover completely. Baking for 10-12 minutes or until the Gookie Dough is turning golden brown. Cool thoroughly on a wire rack. *Recipe adapted from The Daily Meal*

Top with maple syrup or caramel sauce for the ultimate candied bacon taste. You warmed to chocolate and chilli so this recipe should be a breeze. Who doesn't love crispy bacon anyway? Get munching! No need for bacon and eggs in the morning when you can grab a breakfast cookie. Game changer.
