Valentine's Day Dessert Ideas
Sorry guys, but this year, a box of chocolates is just not cutting it for your partner. It's time to up the game and make up a dessert from scratch (I can hear you internally screaming) but seriously, it will mean so much more and will definitely make the heart flutter.
Banoffee Pudding Parfait
You remember what "parfait" means, yeah? Well to help you, it's merely whipped cream, eggs and fruit. Add some homemade vanilla wafers and layer with caramel pudding to make a sickly sweet dessert that you shall genuinely fall in love with.
Tiramisù
Did you know that tiramisù means "pick me up"? The mind is blown. Now if you're not a coffee fan then it's not a problem. Merely use fruity flavoured alcohol to soak the ladyfingers in and pop a layer of fresh fruit (preferably strawberries or raspberries) between the layers of mascarpone cream. Fresh pears and crumbled shortbread biscuits will bring out the original taste.
Bitter Orange Chocolate Truffles
How very fancy. Forget a box of milk tray, that was so last year! Serve rich bite-sized truffles after dinner as a sweet little kick. Blood oranges are in season at this time of year, so provide a gorgeous zesty taste. This shall really tingle the taste buds.
Red Velvet Heart Shaped Cookies
Take it to the traditional levels and make homemade cookies. Guess what? This is where our magic work steps in. Grab yourself a tub of red velvet Gookie Dough, roll out flat and cut into hearts with a cookie cutter. Next, pop them in the oven for 12 minutes and let the results astonish you. Perfect gooey melt in the middle cookies with a crispy edge. Make extras because they are irresistible.
Fortune Cookies
Make homemade fortune cookies with personalised messages. Adorable for Valentine's Day and a pleasant surprise! All you need are egg whites, vanilla extract, almond extract, sunflower oil, plain flour, cornflour, caster sugar and sesame seeds. The best part, they take about 15 minutes to make. Ideal if you're a busy bee.
Mug Chocolate Soufflés
Warm and bittersweet with a hint of coffee, these gorgeous soufflés will warm the mood. Indulge in these beauties and let the mocha taste take you both to heaven!
Brownie Hearts
These Valentine treats combine bittersweet and semisweet chocolate with plenty of butter, eggs, granulated sugar and brown sugar for a moist, creamy dessert. After the brownies have cooked and cooled, you can use 3-inch heart-shaped cutters to create romantic shapes. Then spray or sprinkle with edible glitter and lastly, drizzle with a vanilla glaze.
Vanilla Pudding with Chocolate Chip Gookie Dough
Put a twist on cookies and milk and go posh. Combine sugar, cornstarch, salt, milk, eggs, butter and vanilla for the vanilla pudding and to garnish, add balls of original Gookie Dough. We told you we were here to help! Just look how divine they are.
So get hot in the kitchen and whip up something magical. You can thank us later for playing cupid!

Things You NEED If You Love Desserts
December 11th, already?! Where has the time gone? If you're full of cold like me and are still tackling the Christmas shopping, then I feel your pain. However, the tree is finally up, and some wrapping is done (attempted wrapping, it's honestly a mess). To make your day a little brighter on this miserable Monday morning, I thought I'd bring you some absolute must-have items that you need if you are a dessert lover. It's not too late to add to your Christmas list after all.
An Edible Box of Chocolates
Well duh, chocolate is edible. But there's a catch! Tuck into this box of chocolates which are filled with fleur de sel caramels and don't worry about having to recycle the box because it's also made out of chocolate. Double dessert, yay (just make sure you don't keep it on your lap for too long)!
Funfetti Cake Bites
We aren't biased or anything, but nothing beats our Funfetti Gookie Dough. I guess we'll make an exception this time because you can get a whole box of Funfetti cake bites! Unless you dip your cookie dough balls into chocolate and make cookie pops. Now, that's an idea!
Doughnut Lunch Box
Damn, you foodie fashionista. Be the talk of the office and add a little humour to your weekdays with this doughnut styled lunch box. The real Homer Simpson has arrived!
Ice Cream Mixing Set
You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream! Combine your favourite toppings into your ice cream with this unique set. This features a marble slab (very Instagram worthy), two mixing utensils and ceramic dishes on top of a bamboo base. All you do is freeze the marble slab for an hour or so before mixing. You will be able to make your own Gookie Dough ice cream! Who needs Ben & Jerry's anymore?
Macaroon Soaps
Sorry to lead you on, I know, these soaps look good enough to eat! Take dessert to the next level and even shower with it with these adorable soaps from Etsy. The handmade macaroons are provided in a black and red gift box and smell just like the real thing. Perfect for those with sensitive skin as these are organic. You shall smell divine.
Slush Puppie Machine
Our childhood dreams have come true. Enjoy a tongue colour changing treat which you can now make from the comfort of your own home. Pop onto your kitchen counter and make a unique or classic flavour of icy goodness. All you need is syrup, ice, water and some salt and you're good to go. Guess who'll be hosting the summer party next year?
