  • Gookie Dough Oreos

0 comments / Posted on Mar 07, 2018 by SugarcoatHope Collaborator

Oreos are the nations most loved biscuit (we're sorry custard cream and bourbon, but you just don't cut it anymore). Ever tried the Oreos dipped in milk combo? Because you NEED to! Better yet, Oreo milkshake. Thank the lord for this creation. So obviously, here at Gookie Dough, we're pros when it comes to cookies and what better than to take your favourite edible cookie dough and combine it with the rich chocolate biccy.

    You will need:

    (For the homemade Oreos)

One box of chocolate fudge cake mix (found in the bakery section of any supermarket, or alternatively, a similar chocolate cake mix)

Angel delight pudding mix in chocolate flavour, do not prepare

    Two large eggs

    115g butter

    (For the cookie dough)

A monster tub of Gookie Dough in your choice of flavour, of course!

    Instructions:

(Picture credit: Love To Be In The Kitchen)

Firstly, preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celcius and line a baking tray with parchment paper. In a large bowl, combine your cake mix and pudding mix, add in the eggs and butter. Beat until just combined. It will seem crumbly at this point, but it will come together.

Using a tablespoon measuring spoon, measure out the dough, each ball should be one tablespoon exactly. Place the cookie dough balls two inches apart on the baking tray and bake for 8-1p minutes. They need to be slightly underbaked, so they remain soft and fudgy.

Take your Gookie Dough tub and place it out at room temperature, so it softens slightly. Once the cookies are baked, let them sit for 3-4 minutes and transfer to a cooling rack, so they cool completely. Once the cookies are cooled, roll your Gookie Dough into balls about half a teaspoon and pop them onto a cookie and sandwich it down, so it's the filling. Mission accomplished! COOKIE DOUGH OREOS.

I guess you could call the homemade oreo kind of cheating, considering we used a pre-made mix but we won't tell if you don't! The texture isn't as crunchy as an oreo, but they have some aspects and are packed with chocolatey goodness, so you cannot complain! With four ingredients, it's easy peasy, and if you're not in the mood for cookie dough (which is never), you can make the Oreos on their own! Get yourself a glass of milk, it's essential.

  • Favourite Snacks You Had No Idea Were Vegan

0 comments / Posted on Dec 14, 2017 by SugarcoatHope Collaborator

Vegan is all the trend, whether you agree with this diet or not, it's impossible not to read about it or at least attempt it. Personally, for me, it almost seems impossible. All the delicious things in life contain everything that is anti-vegan, which yes, is a little upsetting. However, what you may not have known are the following snacks that are surprisingly vegan.

    Oreos

The most loved biscuit of all time which is found in everything. On another note, shouldn't it be in Gookie Dough by now? The creamy centre completely tricks our minds and seems to be some kind of magic because they're dairy-free!

    Ritz

The most moreish, buttery, creamy, delicious cracker of all time. However, it certainly doesn't contain any butter! What's better than that?

    Cadbury Bournville

No child likes dark chocolate. I feel as if that is an ultimate fact. It's the same with coffee; it's seen as disgusting until you hit your late teens or early twenties. Bournville is, however, the king of dark chocolate and definitely satisfies the cravings in a slightly healthier fashion.

    Beef & Tomato Pot Noodle

The real and quite scary question is if it's not meat then what is it, exactly? We can't argue with the label, I guess?!

    Reese's Shell Topping

Hallelujah! I don't think anyone can live without Reese's, the peanut buttery goodness is the key to our hearts so this hard shell topping makes ice cream that more worthwhile. Of course, vegan ice cream!

What are your favourite vegan snacks?
